Happy Wheels has been released just as the tragic and blasphemous death of Flash is imminent. That was indeed a tense moment. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. Hopefully, the anxiety over losing Happy Wheels hasn’t disturbed your sleep. If you weren’t aware that the game was in development, here’s some good news for you: this marks the first public release of the game. Please bear with us as we work to fix any remaining bugs.
Although I still prefer Flash, I appreciate that this version runs exceptionally well on mobile devices. Currently, there are no on-screen mobile controls; however, these will be included in the next update. Thank you for your patience. If you’re eager to try it out on your phone right now, a Bluetooth keyboard works perfectly.
While I previously mentioned that the game would run at 60 frames per second, some of the more challenging levels may run slightly slower at that rate. That said, a setting is available to switch to a lower frame rate, and I might host a separate 60 Hz version for users with high-performance CPUs. Overall, Happy Wheels JS aims to faithfully replicate the original in both design and gameplay. The database of users, levels, and replays remains unchanged from the initial release. The only thing that’s truly gone is the impending end of the universe.
