However, prior to the events of the game, Huggy Wuggy was modified—his human conscience transferred into him, but corrupted—transforming him into a monstrous creature. His first appearance in the game involves him pretending to be a statue to deceive the protagonist. Once the player retrieves a key and restores power to a crucial room, Huggy Wuggy vanishes from his pedestal. Throughout the game, he stalks the player from vents and high, inaccessible locations. It isn’t until the player ventures into the dark that Huggy Wuggy emerges from the shadows, chasing them through conveyor belt tunnels. If the player fails to reach the catwalk at the end of the belt, Huggy Wuggy appears, catching and devouring them with his sharp teeth. If the player reaches the catwalk, they must push a box to block Huggy Wuggy’s path and then destroy him, causing both to fall. If the player survives, Huggy Wuggy falls into the void after colliding with pipes. It remains unknown whether he survives or dies from the fall.
